Bookings, tickets and refunds

Bookings are essential and can be made direct with Walk Darwin via this website. Payment will be processed at the time of booking. Once payment is made, you’ll receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.

All our tours require a minimum number of paying guests to operate. If you receive an email that says ‘Order Pending’, you are the first to book and as soon as the next person books, a confirmation email will be generated. If we find that you are the only guest booked on any given date, we will notify you 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure time and provide an alternate date for your consideration.

Bookings are not considered confirmed unless full payment has been received by Walk Darwin and you have received a Walk Darwin confirmation number.

A per booking fee of 1.9% will be applied at the time of checkout. As at 1 July 2022, the fee is $0.93 per adult fare.

Child fares
Walk Darwin experiences are not recommended for children under 8 years, due to the nature of the tour. Child fares apply for 8-15 years and require an accompanying, paying adult.

Fitness level and accessibility

Fitness Level
By booking a Walk Darwin tour guests acknowledge and agree that they participate in the tour at their own risk.

You need to be able to walk at a leisurely pace for a period of 1 to 2.5 hours over paved or gravel footpaths and parkland. We do stop regularly in shaded areas to talk, however, there are limited places to sit and rest.

Walk Darwin reserves the right to refuse participation on our tours to any person, for any reason.

Darwin City is reasonably flat and easy to walk and Walk Darwin has selected its city routes to avoid stairs as much as possible and enable wheelchair participation. There are curb ramps on most path-to-road accesses.

The Botanic Garden walks follow a paved pathway, however they can move off the path onto grass and gravel areas. There is one large incline to navigate down and a long gently inclined ramp.

We ask that when booking your Walk Darwin experience please advise of any wheelchair or mobility scooter access requirements so your guide can prepare their route prior to you joining the tour.

NOTE: Ship-to-shore guests with mobility concerns should contact Walk Darwin direct to discuss your needs.
