Wander Darwin’s Walls

A comprehensive 2.5-hour exploration of Darwin’s famous street art.

Discover Darwin’s award-winning street art and the artists behind the murals.

John Hart from Walk Darwin on the Heritage Walk

This experience is all about street art and provides the most comprehensive exploration of Darwin’s famous Street Art, visiting Austin Lane, Shadforth Lane, Peel Street, Nuttall Place and West Lane.

Across your 2.5 hour Darwin walking tour you’ll learn how today’s street art rose from the New York City graffiti scene to the majestic murals that adorn city walls today. Your guide will point out the award-winning masterpieces and bring some of the murals to life before your eyes with augmented reality (AR).

As you navigate the city laneways, you’ll hear stories of the artists who have participated in Darwin’s street art festivals and see a number of their magnificent artworks, learning about the different techniques used to take them from vision to reality. Included is a short refreshment break at a local café with time to show your best pics to everyone.

During the Darwin Street Art Festival each year (usually late-August and into September) there may even be the chance to meet one or two of artists and hear them speak personally about their murals and techniques.

The tour begins and ends at the Westpac Bank, corner of Smith St Mall and Bennett St, departing early morning or mid-afternoon. Look for your guide in a bright orange shirt.

~  15% surcharge applies for all public holidays, this will show at time of booking.
