About Walk Darwin

Walk Darwin was born from a realisation by owners, Nerida and John, that travellers were transiting through Darwin to other Territory destinations and highlights without ever experiencing all that the city has to offer.

After a personal exploration of the city they uncovered a hidden Darwin just waiting to be discovered and decided to start their own business. In 2014 Walk Darwin released their first sightseeing walk, the Darwin Heritage Walk.

John brings to the business mastery in managing groups after almost 35 years as coach driver and operations manager at prestigious Australian companies such as Australian Pacific Tours and AAT Kings. You are in safe hands when John is at the wheel of Walk Darwin’s mini coach. With a love of history, John enjoys researching and discovering the obscure facts and stories you will hear on a Walk Darwin tour.

Nerida’s passion began as an accredited tour guide during one of Western Australia’s wildflower seasons before joining Australian Pacific Tours as an Australian-based coach tour director, escorting domestic and international travellers around the country. Opportunities followed in tour planning and operations, reservations, brochure production, sales and marketing administration and online content coordination. It is through Nerida’s originality and passion for providing engaging experiences that Walk Darwin’s catalogue of tour experiences has grown.

Together, this formidable couple with over 60 years in tourism between them, have developed a range of guided sightseeing walks, vehicle and private touring experiences within the Greater Darwin region. Each experience is accompanied by well-researched stories and delivered by locals who know the town and its nuances who look forward to hosting you soon!
